New Delhi, the national capital, was gripped under scorching
heat even when rest of India got heavy rainfall over the past one month. A
respite to the heat, Delhi got heavy rains over the weekend. Reportedly, many
parts of the city were flooded as well. Since Saturday, both Delhi city and
its suburbs witnessed heavy rainfall. The weather forecast has predicted
moderate rains across the city for the next two days as well.
Road traffic was affected in many parts of Delhi including AIIMS,
Dhaula Kuan and Nigambodh Ghat.
As had been forecast by #Skymet, the Sunday morning started with the thud
of #rains for many in #DelhiNCR. At present, temperatures are being
recorded close to 26°C and #weather is consistently pleasant-Skymet
Weather.
Delhi, known to be one of the most polluted cities in the world, hardly
receives rainfall in a year. With rains lashing across the city over the
weekend, residents could breathe some good and clean air. Reports stated that
the pollution levels of the city had come down after rains. In fact,
temperatures came down to 25 degree Celsius in many parts of the city, thanks
to the rains.

tweeted journalist Nistula Hebbar.
“Delhi gets the cleanest air in the past one week all thanks to widespread
rains. Air Quality Index was 44 (good) on Friday, 69(satisfactory) on Tues,
63 on Wed and 75 on Thurs”, tweeted Majid Alam.
