The under-19 team from India has won the Tri-Nation
Under-19s Tournament title by beating Bangladesh
U-19 in England yesterday.
Bangladesh lost the match by six wickets as India batted superbly to meet the
target of 262 runs and made 264 for four in 48.4 overs.
India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 50 runs, Divyansh
Saxena made 55 runs, Priyam Garg 73 runs and
wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel made 59 runs and remained not out
helping win the match for the team.
Rakibul Hasan from Bangladesh took two wickets and gave away
55 runs. Mahmudul Hasan Joy made 109 runs in 134 balls after
Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first.
Kartik Tyagi, Sushant Mishra both took two
wickets each for India while Ravi Bishnoi and
Shubhang Hegde claimed one wicket each.
India had earlier lost their match against England U-19 by eight wickets but
still got entry to the finals via D/L method. While Bangladesh remained at
top of points table with 11 points, India came second with 8 points and
England scored 5 points.
